One Dead, One Injured in Plane Crash Into Newberg Home

One person is dead and another is injured after a plane crashed into a home in Newberg, Oregon, on Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred at around 10:30 a.m. PT, when the plane struck the home in the 1400 block of Northwest Walnut Street. The home was engulfed in flames after the crash, and firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within an hour.

The pilot of the plane was pronounced dead at the scene. The injured passenger was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Neighbors Describe the Scene

Neighbors who witnessed the crash described a chaotic scene.

"I heard a loud boom," said one neighbor. "I looked out my window and saw the plane on fire. I ran outside to see if I could help, but there was nothing I could do."

Another neighbor said that she saw the plane hit the house and then explode.

"It was like something out of a movie," she said. "I've never seen anything like it."

Investigation Underway

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the cause of the crash. The NTSB will release a preliminary report on the crash within 10 days, and a final report within 12 to 24 months.

Impact on the Community

The crash has had a devastating impact on the Newberg community. The home that was struck by the plane was completely destroyed, and the family who lived there is now homeless.

The crash has also raised concerns about the safety of the local airport. The airport is located in a densely populated area, and there have been several close calls in recent years.

The community is coming together to support the family who lost their home and to advocate for safety improvements at the airport.
